Vermedx(R) Technology To Assist San Antonio Diabetes Intervention Pilot Program
The San Antonio Metropolitan Health District (SAMHD) has selected the Vermont Clinical Decision Support, LLC, to provide central elements to Vermedx Technology for the pilot project of its diabetes management program. The Vermedx Technology is assigned to assist the district to map epidemiology of hyperglycemia, monitor diabetes epidemic and solve problems. The Vermedx Diabetes Information System is the patented technology developed by the National Institute of Health.
It is worthwhile to say that the city has recorded second highest diabetes death rate in the country. The Texas state legislature has ordered the SAMHD to conduct a pilot program to analyze the nature and scope of the disease in San Antonio.
The pilot program will be of 18 month duration. The SAMHD will have to submit final report ot the Texas state legislature in September 2009. The Legislature will then consider for other similar programs.
