Type 2 Diabetes May Soon Take Shape Of Epidemic
In a recent study, researchers from the University of Michigan have found that often ignored childhood obesity can lead to type 2 diabetes among the youth. And, if not detected, the disease can take the shape of epidemic in near future. Thus the childhood obesity could lead to large numbers of younger adults developing type 2 diabetes, causing serious and lasting health complications for future generations of Americans. It can give birth to problems like various diabetes complications, and ultimately, lower life expectancy. Young adults with type 2 diabetes are therefore more likely to develop complications such as blindness and kidney failure during their lifetimes. Also, the type 2 diabetic mothers run the risks of giving birth to children with problems like obesity and type 2 diabetes itself.
