Stem Cell Transplantation for the First Time in Nashville History

Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center officials announced Thursday that doctors will perform for the first time in Nashville history a stem cell transplant procedure on Twenty-four-year-old Charles Dougherty. Charles Dougherty will be only the second person in Tennessee history to undergo a stem cell transplant, in this case to involve blood from an anonymous umbilical cord donor.
