Gap Between what Doctors Aspire to Do and What They Get Done
Dr. Atul Gawande will speak Monday at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston, regarding the theme of his book, doctor’s need to improve performance in medicine.
Dr. Atul Gawande, former Rhodes scholar and a recipient of a MacArthur “genius” grant, writes frequently about the gap between what doctors aspire to do and what they get done. His first book, Complications, was a New York Times best seller and a finalist for the 2002 National Book Award. He’ll be at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston on Monday to speak about the ideas presented in his new book, Better: A Surgeon’s Notes on Performance.
