The air pollution emitted by brick kilns in Rawalpindi is causing serious health problems like asthma, lung cancer and in some cases serious eye infections among its inhabitants. There are nearly 50 brick kilns in the Rawalpindi and Islamabad jurisdiction. But the state authority is silent over the issue.
A state air-quality official said a recently released study shows the levels of air pollution-related cancer risks around the BNSF Railway yard in San Bernardino are on a high. It can be mentioned that San Bernardino has a whole bunch emission of sources in one place.
